Peaches and Cream Spring Flowers

04/27/2016

One of my favorite things about designing with seasonal flowers is that the selection constantly changes. Today, I walked through my garden and picked the prettiest blooms I could find. I also had a few flowers from other local Seattle area growers, that were leftover from projects this week. I am going to show you what I chose and the arrangement I created with them.

I noticed a lot of beautiful white flowers.  And these gorgeous peach poppies are just too gorgeous to pass up.  From left, the flowers I chose are: spirea, iceland poppies, clematis vine, ranunculus, garden rose, and double lilac. Not as many greens in this collection as I might normally include but that’s okay!

The finished arrangement turned out just as I imagined, with flowers overflowing from one of my favorite stone urns.  The lilacs provided the foundation shape, with the spirea and clematis vines offering movement.  And the poppies were the star of the show.

Can’t wait to bring this lovely arrangement inside and enjoy it this week. If only my house were a bit cleaner, I would share a picture of it on my dinning room table. I chose to play with flowers instead of cleaning today, which is always a good choice in my opinion!
