For this years Skagit Wedding Tour, we were part of the team at Beau Lodge. Nestled in the woods and featuring its own pond, this former homestead gave us the inspiration to style a Summer Camp wedding. And with an early June date, we were able to feature locally grown flowers such as peonies, garden roses and poppies.  Thank you to Laura Nichols Photography for capturing the day on film and sharing these images with us. As I was searching for inspiration, I found some madras fabric in bright pink shades at the fabric store.  It’s patchwork style reminded me of quilts you might bring camping to stay warm at night. The color blush is popular now with brides.  I like how the look changes as the seasons change, depending on what flowers are growing at the time.  For this summer wedding, we used roses, dahlias and scented geranium leaves. Clusters of flowers were added to the ceremony chairs as well.  A classic look with a twist for a beautiful wedding at the Lairmont Manor in Bellingham.    

Most of my clients strive for an outdoor wedding in the summer, to take advantage of our gorgeous weather.  But it was a nice change to provide flowers for an indoor wedding this past summer.  Held at the First United Methodist Church and McIntyre Hall, we used flowers in shades of pinks. The bridal bouquet included roses and dahlias in shades of pink, with touches of pink snow berries and greenery.  The bridesmaids bouquets were white roses and dahlias. The church’s altar was decorated with two tall floral arrangements. Flowers were similar to the brides bouquet, with addition of hydrangeas, stock and more greens. The reception was held at the local theatre, McIntyre Hall, which boasts a dramatic entry room.  Table tops were alternated with the tall arrangements used on the altar and low centerpieces.
