Ribbon Shopping In Paris – Part Two

The shop across the street is Ultramod’s vintage hat supply store and is only opened upon request. I ask the clerk if I could look in that store as well. Across the street we go, the clerk bearing the key to the door. Turns out its not a key but a screw driver of sorts. She works on the latch for a bit and the door opens. Designers such as Givenchy, Lanvin and Jean Paul Gaultier have been known to shop at Ultramod over it’s 100+ year history.  Walking through the doors into the second shop, I can see why. It is even more magical and old-world looking than the first. Ribbon Shopping in Paris – Part One

Paris is my favorite city in the world.  I love the architecture, the color of the buildings, the various neighborhoods, the gardens.  A recent opportunity brought me back to Paris, a dream come true. Only there for a few days, I knew I had to make the most of my time.  Forget about seeing the typical tourist sites. I was going shopping! Top on my list was to explore the various neighborhoods, searching for items I could incorporate into my wedding designs. Ribbons seemed like the perfect item to search for. In talking with friends who know the city well and through my own research, I ran across one shop that seemed like the perfect place to start.  Ultramod is a mercerie, located in the 2nd Arrondissement.
