For this years Skagit Wedding Tour, we were part of the team at Beau Lodge. Nestled in the woods and featuring its own pond, this former homestead gave us the inspiration to style a Summer Camp wedding. And with an early June date, we were able to feature locally grown flowers such as peonies, garden roses and poppies. Thank you to Laura Nichols Photography for capturing the day on film and sharing these images with us.

As I was searching for inspiration, I found some madras fabric in bright pink shades at the fabric store. It’s patchwork style reminded me of quilts you might bring camping to stay warm at night. Turning the fabric into table runners, pillows and part of the tee-pee, everything else fell into place around the colors.
The tee-pee is the piece I was most excited about creating. I thought it would be a fun backdrop for the ceremony, constructed from bamboo, ribbon and fabric. Topping it off with flowers made it perfect. The ceremony site is nestled in the trees, next to the pond. When viewing the tee-pee across the pond from the lodge, it was a magical sight that drew you in. Cheers Wedding Planning & Design made the strings of hearts, to add an arts and craft feel to the ceremony.
A second ceremony site was set in the orchard. An old apple tree served as the backdrop, decorated with glass globes filled with garden roses and peonies. The completed look was like a beautiful sculpture or art instillation, with the globes gently swaying in the breeze. Under the nearby orchard trees, we set a picnic blanket with pillows and vintage suitcase from Rustic Events Rentals to help set the overall relaxed camping mood. Throughout the day, I viewed couples taking a moment to sit down and enjoy the shaded spot. The orchard also seems to be the resident cat’s most favorite place.
The lodge itself is part of an old homestead, converted into a wedding venue. Set on acreage, it has a bit of everything you might want in a venue: mature landscaping, stream fed pond, orchard, large grassy areas, gardens and forest trails. An intimate venue, we set the sample reception tables in the main room of the lodge. Doors open up to multiple covered decks, onto which you can expand. The tables were styled with the Summer Camp idea in mind, keeping things simple but beautiful. Haggen Market Street Catering had a chef on site making smores for guests, with different toppings. A clever idea for a dessert bar, they were so yummy!
The team of vendors at this venue was truly some of the best from Skagit Valley. They are all immensely talented and a joy to work with. We had a great day enjoying the venue and meeting couples as part of the tour. Vendors included:
