Orange Fall Wedding

10/07/2015

Fall is a great time of year for a wedding in the Pacific Northwest.  Our weather is still warm and the rush of summer weddings are over.  For me, the abundance of locally grown flowers is amazing to work with.  For example, this lovely fall wedding featuring orange and green colors.

The bride loved orange and wanted to use locally grown flowers in those colors.  She also liked texture and was open to the idea of using herbs.

Her bouquet included a combination of dahlias, lisianthus, zinnias, calla lilies, herbs and rose hips.

The bridesmaid dresses were sage, so we choose to include lots of greens in their bouquets.  I included basil, rosemary, sages and oregano from my garden.  Pops of orange were from dahlias.

Together, all the bouquets looked harmonious.

Finally, the boutonnieres were kept simple.  Herbs were used, along with dahlia buds for a bit of color.

Here is a picture the bride sent me, of their wedding day.  So pretty!
