Vibrant Purple Wedding

07/29/2015

On my kitchen window sill sit several orchid plants.  One in particular just starting blooming, a lovely spotted purple odontoglossum. I used it in a bridal bouquet last fall, for a bride who loved all shades of purple. Seeing the orchid bloom reminded me I had yet to share images from that wedding, so here goes!

Polino Bridal Bouquet Full 600

The brides bouquet featured fall blooms in shades of purple and cream.  Flowers included lisianthus, roses, calla lilies, beauty berry and physocarpus leaves. The orchid really stands out lovely on top of the other blooms.

The bridesmaid bouquets were lighter tones of purple.  They look a bit more pink in this image, but were really lavender! Using a mix of dahlias, stock, roses and lisianthus, the bouquets were so bright and cheerful.

Closer look at a bridesmaid bouquet. Isn’t the bi-color dahlia lovely?

Orchids have been one of my favorite flowers for as long as I can remember.  It pleases me when I can incorporate some of my blooms into a brides bouquet.  Just makes the design that much more special to me.
