Plum and Blush Wedding in Anacortes

09/06/2015

One of my most anticipated weddings of the summer, Stephanie and Brian were recently wed at the Majestic Inn in Anacortes WA. Stephanie and I worked on her floral ideas for about a year, with her goal of creating a romantic color palette that paired light and dark tones. “Something Victorian”, she said. Though we didn’t take the the vintage theme literally, we were inspired by the era’s colors. The palette we created were tones of plum, blush, lavender and cream. The bridal bouquet was full of the wedding colors and lots of texture.  The locally grown flowers included: dahlia, garden roses, phlox, scabiosa, oregano, yarrow, cerinthe and mint.

The ceremony was held in the hotels garden.  The arbor was decorated with flower sprays in the wedding colors.  Ceremony aisle was lined with shepherd hooks, holding small vases of flowers.

Reception was held in the hotels elegant new ballroom. The couple wanted to use pint glasses they collected from their travels to various national parks as the vases.  Thought that was a nice touch, that showed their love for nature and hiking.  Flowers used were the same as in the bouquets, with the addition of black berries.  My added touch to their hiking memories 🙂

This was my first wedding at the Majestic Inn since their addition was completed.  And I have to say I love what they have done!  The indoor spaces are very elegant, a nice addition to their historic hotel. Looking forward to my next wedding at this lovely venue.
