Seasonal Deliveries To Local Businesses Ends for 2011

The season has come to an end for 2011 subscription seasonal deliveries. From May thru October, you can find me Monday mornings driving around Mount Vernon and Burlington, delivering flowers to local businesses.  As part of our subscription program, they receive fresh locally grown flower bouquets weekly or bi-weekly through the growing season.  Vases are re-used, saving them money and cupboard space.  Here are a few images of the last bouquets to be delivered this year.

I love creating these weekly bouquets! I get to walk through the gardens and choose flowers at their peak.  The selection changes each week, as do the colors.  I think that is one of my clients favorite parts, is seeing what flowers arrive each Monday.

Another favorite part of weekly deliveries is going with my daughters, who are 3 & 5.  They love talking with the people at each business, opening the doors for me, climbing the stairs, etc.  It is a weekly adventure that we all will miss!

Peonies Galore

I probably have said this before, but I love peonies!  They are in full bloom now and are the focal point of the seasonal deliveries to local businesses this week.  Mixed with the prolific blue delphiniums and lime greens of pods, mint and lady's mantel, the bouquets are quite pretty.  Each time we brought them into a business today, the customers swooned over them.

Here are some of the bouquets, ready to be loaded into the car for deliveries.  Like the mass collection of flowers together.  The bees were even coming over to check them out.

A closer look at the bouquets, where you can see the white Star of Bethlehem.  They are a new plant for me this year and are loving them!  Will definitely plant more for next year.

Peonies should be available thru June and possibly into July from some vendors.  If you are planning an event or wedding during this time, I would highly recommend taking advantage of their beauty.  The huge flower heads, full of ruffly petals come in many colors and shapes.  And many have a light, pleasing fragrance.

Seasonal Deliveries to Local Businesses

Offered May-October, Country Bouquets Floral delivers bouquets to local businesses through our seasonal deliveries. Freshly picked that morning, the flowers are representative of what is blooming on the farm that week.  Our clients love to receive the flowers, to see the varieties change throughout the summer.  My girls are old enough now to help me with the deliveries, helping to carry the bouquets into offices.  They love to visit each place and greet everyone.  It is very cute!

This week marked the beginning of the peonies, one of my favorite garden flowers!  Here is a picture of some of the bouquets ready for delivery:

Flowers used are coral and burgundy peonies, lupine, lady's mantle, mint, allium and catmint.  I am in love with the coral peonies!  What a gorgeous color and they look so great with the burgundy peonies as well.

Here you can see the alliums, featured in a previous blog entry. This was the last week for them, as their season is now over.  But the peonies are just starting, so stay tuned for more entries about these gorgeous early summer flowers.
