Bellingham Bridal Inspirations Show 2013

Bellingham's Bridal Inspirations show just wrapped up with another great year of vendors and new brides.  This year our booth focused on the trend of white and blush tones, a very romantic look that we love to do.  Here are some images from the show:

We brought one of our pillars, used for ceremonies.  They are salvaged pillars from a craftsman style house that was being torn down.  Talk about a real vintage piece! The table was covered in 12 layers of tulle, in three shades.  When fluffed up, it gave a real etherial look to the table.  Would be great idea for a sweetheart table.

Our escort card display featured our business cards with an orchid for each guest to pin in their hair.  It was fun to look in the audience during the fashion show and see so many people with flowers in their hair.

A collection of vintage vases, cut glass and milk glass, were clustered to show the trend of using multiple vessels with small arrangements of flowers. Mercury glass votive candles added a nice warm glow.

The bridal bouquet, photographed the next day outside, was a very romantic style.  Using roses in white and buff colors, accent flowers in white were incorporated to add texture and fragrance.  The stems were wrapped in a moss green silk ribbon with a vintage bracelet wrapped around as a nice vintage touch.

I so love talking with brides at shows, when they are so thrilled to be newly engaged and just planning their weddings.  Everyone is so happy and excited to be there! Looking forward to a great wedding season helping many of these brides with their wedding flowers.

Favorite Fall Bouquets

With so many people looking for inspiration for their upcoming fall weddings, I thought it was a good time share some of my favorites.

Favorite Fall Bouquets

Favorite Fall Bouquets
This is one of my all time favorite bouquets and color combinations.  Created in late September using garden flowers, it features dahlias, herbs and grasses. The colors this time of year are jewel tones, very saturated purples, oranges and golds.  A great color combination for a bride that loves purple, the orange flowers will pop against deep purple bridesmaid dresses.

Designed for a wedding in October, these bouquets incorporated the best seasonal flowers of fall. The bride wanted burgundy and orange toned flowers, to go with her burgundy bridesmaid dresses. The bouquets are almost monochromatic, but there is so much texture and depth provided by the various flowers and herbs.

Providing a more sophisticated feel, this November wedding featured various fall leaves and the colors cognac and champagne.  Using only roses and leaves, the roses really have a chance to shine. A collar of fall leaves gives the bouquets a nice finish, providing a nod to fall without going too over board.  The brides bouquet also incorporated ivory skeleton leaves, that add a nice airy feel.

Three very different looks for fall. I hope these bouquets give you the inspiration you need to help plan your own wedding!

Flowers for Event at the Lairmont Manor

The Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, WA remains one of my favorite venues for events.  Such beautiful architecture and gardens! And the staff, Tammy and Susan, are amazing to work with.

They hosted an event this week for which I provided a few arrangements.  The first arrangement was for the dinning table. The decor was to be fall harvest theme.  Since I love working with seasonal plant material, this was right up my alley!

Very natural and textural, this arrangement contains locally sourced materials. Except the orange protea.  The kale, purple beautyberry, orange twigs and crabapples are from Jello Mold Farms. The artichokes, blackberries, lavender, grass, rosemary and leaves are from my yard.

Here is a view of the arrangement from the top.  When I delivered the arrangement, the table was already set.  Several of the serving platters were italian majolica pottery, very artistic and colorful.  The flowers looked amazing with them.

I also brought an arrangement for Tammy and Susan, for their front office.  Partially because I love bringing these ladies goodies and partially because I was playing with different fall arrangement styles.

This arrangement is an ode to the beautiful fall leaf colors.  Red roses, orange leaves from my maple tree and crabapples in the vase. Simple and beautiful arrangement.

Closer look at the crabapples.  Aren't they gorgeous!  They are pretty heavy, since they are real apples that are just tiny, and they sink well in water. Think I will play with this arrangement idea for some Thanksgiving arrangements I am creating next week.  Stay tuned!
